Here at the Shevacon Hotel

My husband and I'm are at the Holiday Inn Roanoke-Tanglewood, in our room. We've been here since yesterday afternoon. Ate at Cheeseburger Cheeseburger at the nearby Tanglewood Mall for dinner and stopped at the Barnes and Noble, asking if they could get in some of my books.
Ran into Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett in Star Wars original trilogy) who remembers me from Dragoncon three years ago! He has been very nice. And last night, Blair, the conchair of Shevacon, ehad to pick up the author guest of honor, Larry Niven, at the airport. Can't wait to see an author who I met for the first time back in the '70s at a convention in Los Angeles. I have read his books.
Anyway, my first panel is "Why Does Sex Sell in Genre Fiction?" at 6:00pm. I have another panel at 8:00pm, "The Paranormal in Virginia." Of course, I have a panel tomorrow night and one at 11:00am on Sunday. Plus I hope a book signing, too. If you're going to be here, and want a book, I brought copies of all, but the two newest anthologies I have stories in. Just let me know.
Anyway, we're waiting for lunch to be served in the hotel's restaurant at 11:30am, as it is much colder and threating to rain, and besides, we don't want to loose our awesome
parking space at the hotel!

Wednesday Mutterings

Had sinus infection last week and went to the doctor. Got a prescription antibiotics from the doctor that is six pills to take in five days. Well,on the last day I caught a bad cold. That's when I remembered I got these pills before, two years ago, and the same result--a nasty cold. Still a little hoarse and a little stuffed, but much better after more over the counter sinus pills and blowing my nose. Got Shevacon in two days and I can not be ill.
Now that I am better, I was able to go exercise and to my hairdresser. And looking forward to Shevacon. We leave tomorrow morning to stay at the hotel day before and check out some bookstores in area.
Whoops! Gotta go. In an hour got to pick hubby up from work, and I need to go pay a bill and have our mail put on hold until Monday. Have a great over-the-hump day, everyone!

I have two book signings this week. The first one is tonight at Short Pump Barnes and Noble. I'll be talking about "Social Media for the Author Before and After" to the Virginia Writers Club and will do a signing after. This is at 6:30PM and the address for the bookstore is 11640 W. The second one is a book signing at Walden's Bookstore in Virginia Center Commons this Saturday, February 21st, 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The address is 10101 Brook Road Glen Allen, Virginia 23059 804-262-9479. Author Sammie Jo Moresca will be sharing the signing with me, signing copies of Smolder.
Do come by and say hi. And if you have copies of my book and they're not signed, bring them by and i will do that for you.

To Farpoint, and Back Home Again

It was a fun weekend, with a dance Saturday night that for an hour author Helen Madden and I attended (while my hubby went to bed early) amd a nice dinner Friday night that the con gave and that we guests attended. The committee was nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Another nice thing; no snow so that driving to the hotel and back home again had no Next con: Shevacon in Roanoke, Virginia February 27th, 28th and March 1st.
Enjoy the photos above from the convention.

Haunted Virginia's Layouts Done--Now Waiting

Above is the cover for the book, Haunted Virginia: Legends, Myths and True Tales, coming no later than this fall from Schiffer Publishing Doesn't it look cool?
Did the layouts and page numbers for the Index and now it's been back to them as of Thursday. So now it's wait and see--I assume the printer's is next. So it's getting closer to be here, an actual copy in my hands.
This book is bigger than Haunted Richmond, Virginia, much bigger. But I wanted to let everyone know and give the teaser of the cover.
